I had a realy nice day today. I spent it with my wee ones and we decorated pine cones, tree bark and leaves that I had collected in early Autumn.

After lunch we went for a walk around my local wood.

I am sure that i have not celebrated it in the proper way, but I have had a lovely day and I had a lovely time with my wee ones. It is good to spend time with them doing something nice.

Motivation spell

My friend and I have created a spell for motivation.

I have not had chance to test it, though just writing out the spell gave me the motivation to get my bedroom, so I am feeling optamistic about this working well.

Getting better with spells

The saying that pratise makes perfect is definitely true.

Maybe it also helps that I have done a lot of work on clearing the clutter from my home which will create a possitive atmosphere.

But I do feel more positive about my candle magic. I am sure that it will not be too long before I will see results to back this up.

New deck

I have ordered a new Tarot deck today. I decided that I just was not connecting with the cards in the way I wanted to.

I have ordered a unicorn deck. I was originally going to get a fairy deck, but when I thought about that I immediatly thought of unicorns (I am making a fairy oracle so I will not miss out ) My friend said that it took her four years to get confident.

That means there will be lots of work ahead for me.

I am glad that a I ordered the cards.

Connecting with my cards

When I was at my friends house I was really impressed with how she did the Tarot reading.

I made me realize that I really need to imorove my Tarot reading skills.

Though it has made me realize that I need to get another Tarot deck. I am just not connecting with it as I should. I will still use the deck, but I will just use it for my own readings.

Helping my friend

Today I have asked how to help my friend using magic.

Thankfully it has not taken long to get soneone to help me.

Now all I need to do is help my friend. I really hope that she is able to resolve the problems that she has been facing.

Broom

When I was at my friends house recently I notticed that she had got a homenade broom. After seeing that I decided to make one myself.

So today I found some twigs for my broom (I am so glad that I live right behind a wood)

I ended up collecting so many twigs that I was able to create a large, medium and small broom.

I really fell like I am now making yet more progress in witchcraft journey.

Rose water made

I made the rose water. I managed to make it without any problems. I have not used the water yet but it is in a couple of jars. I think I will use it for a face wash.

The lemon and Tea Tree oil will help make it into a nice face wash.

Rose water

I am going to have a go at making rose water tomorrow.

I got some roses at the shop, though they are starting to fade. My friend told me about using them to make rose water. I have not only bought some essential oils, but I found some at home.

How to make Rose water

Tomorrow I think I will just put the rose petals in the pan with some water, add some lemon rind (my friend told me that it is good for making the rose water last long, but it can only be the yellow rind. Do not do past into the white part) I will have a look and see about adding some essential oil. I am thinking of adding Tea Tree oil.

A tidy house means a tidy mind

And the same is true for witchcraft. A good clean environment helps keep the atmosphere positive and helping the spell even more.

I had not thought about it until my friend told me.

She told me as she was rushing around cleaning her house in preparation for making rose water. She said it does not really matter if it is not spotless, but as long as it is clean then it will be good enough. She also said that the act of cleaning helps her get mentally prepared for what she intends to do.

From now on I will make sure that I will do my housework before I do anything.

The Star festival

I am late posting this (I should have posted about this on the 7th)

I have been learning Japanese and as I have been learning the language I have been learning more about Japanese culture and history.

I got this from an E-Mail from a company that I had bought some CD's from.

On the 7th of July it is referred to as the day of Tanabata.

This is a tale of the milky way seperates two loving deities, Ori-Hime (Vega) and Hikoboshi (Altir) and they are allowed to meet once a year on the 7th.

This day is celebrated by writing wishes on Tanzaku (small pieces of paper) and hanging them on bamboo.

My partner and I did this. but as we do not have any bamboo we slotted them in to a wooden fence. I have takent hem down now and I plan on burning them in my cauldron as soon as I get the opportunity.

Candle colors

With candle magic the color of the candle is important. The colors can have several meanings.

Here are the primary meanings:

• Red - Love
• Orange - Career
• Yellow - Persuasion 
• Green - Prosperity
• Blue - Healing
• Purple - Spirituality
• White - Purity
• Black - Protection

Birthday candles are a easy way of  getting colored candles.

Avoid scented candles (unless you have made them using essential oil) as most commercially made candles have a strong chemical-based scent.

Candle magic

I was at my friends house recently and she was telling me about what she says when she performs candle magic. I have started saying this when I do my abundance spell (I have not been that good at doing it ever night, but I will be good from now on)

As she lights the candle she says the following three times (one each for the maiden, mother and crone)

The candle
The taper
The wick
The flame
The ribbons of magic
Unfurl again
The words
The sound
The will
The spell
To know
To dare
And not to tell

After that she then adds:

As above
As below
May it harm none
So mote it be.

The reason why you do not tell people when you perform candle magic is to protect the spell. If you tell someone they could be negative about what you have done (or even sarcastic) and that could break the effects of the spell that you have cast.

Abundance candle spell

I have been doing an abundance spell in the morning. I had read that if you get a green candle and etch into it the amount of money that you need and light it for a few minutes at sunrise (or as soon as you get up) while visualizing the sun rising and you getting that money.

However I am not that good in the morning (I think to say that I am not firing on all cylinders would be a polite thing to say) so I either forgot to do it or I just did not feel at though I was putting enough intent as in the morning I need to rush around to get my wee ones ready for school.

I was talking to my friend and she said that I did not need to etch the amount into a candle and that I just need a green candle and ask for what I need. It does not matter when in the day it is done. She told me that she did that when she needed to get a Saturday job when she was at school. The next day she was offered a paid version of the job she was already doing on a voluntary basis.

So tonight I shall be lighting my candle and asking for help to pay with my credit card bill.
